HEmas Hospital Galle

Initially my dog bites were treated at the local Kalipataya government hospital, good procedure but found unhygienic in wards and theatre was a joke, plus waiting time unacceptable.
Had final stitches done at Hemas through insurance company. Greeted on arrival, paperwork ready. Initial woman doctor was lathargic and disinterested and uninspiring. Waited nearly 2 hours for surgeon to come. Very nice man got me into the theatre in no time. Theatre was very hygienic as expected and I was looked after very well. Cost for 4 stitches 10,000 Rs.
On arrival I found the reception area and doctors quarters to be very dated and shabby not much different to the free government hospital ( foreigners pay ). However, when taken up the lift to the theatre I found a big change in clensliness and decor as I would expect from a private hospital.
Many thanks to the man who greeted me at reception, looked after me well.
Oh just one thing, the toilets on the ground floor are a big let down to Hemas hospital. Man and woman toilet next to each other, shared wash basin and it was blocked full of water. Ladies toilet seat was broken in half. Not at all impressed !!
